Here is the latest in my tape loop sound art installation concepts - THE TAPE LOOP FAN. By extending the tape loop from the shell and tape player you can add more time to recorded loop, but this also introduces a certain amount of noise and unpredictability (especially when the loop has no tension). I wanted to experiment with using a fan to not only "keep tension" on the loop, but also to shake, warble, and shape the tape loop for a visual effect. In the end the fan worked to keep the tape loop moving and did add a certain shaky and breezy quality to the audio on the tape loop.
